Last week (week 8) I was in New Jersey for a week vacation to visit my grandparents. I had a fun time with my family and was glad to have some rest and relaxation after a long school year. This week we went to Vulcraft! I had been waiting for this visit since Mark decided to take us. Last semester for my senior design project I was assigned to design and analyze a 4000 sq ft industrial building. While doing my design I used a Vulcraft catalog for both my joists and deck. I was excited to actually see in person the things I had been looking at in a book all semester. It was a great tour and I had the opportunity to question some of the Vulcraft employees and ask about how their career choses brought them to the point they are at now. All in all it was a great trip I learned a lot and got to get to know my fellow interns a bit better. As for the job site, last week they set the first air handling unit (can be seen in pictures 2 and 3 attached) for the “GA Building” and set lots 1303 and 1304. It was really amazing to go on vacation for just one week and come back and find that so much has changed in such a short amount of time.
